Aquarian traveled to Boston, MA in early March 2014 to produce the annual Conference on Retroviruses & Opportunistic Infections (CROI) at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial (Hynes) Convention Center. CROI is the largest annual U.S. Conference on AIDS and other opportunistic infections. There were approximately 4,500 attendees, with about half being international. The International Antiviral Society – USA (IAS-USA), CROI’s planning organization, hired Aquarian to provide planning, audiovisual and logistical support. We handled production elements from floor plan creation & labor scheduling to vendor recommendation, budgeting and supervision.
We also supplied a team of on-site art directors and PowerPoint operators to facilitate the over 300 speaker presentations given at the meeting. This included quite a bit of file reformatting on-site as well as rehearsal room and cyber café management.
This year, all presentations were projected in full HD, with a 16:9 screen ratio and 100% digital signal processing. This provided a more vibrant visual representation of all presentations throughout the conference.
